Alessandro was born in Reggio Emilia on December 73 In the last ten years he travelled throughout Italy, USA, Japan, China, UK, Germany, Singapore and many other country, working on his project on some of the biggest cities in the world and collaborating on a few editorial projects with different italian and international magazines. From 2001 to 2009 he was part of the team of photographer of Grazia Neri Agency and won the 3M Italy award for the best italian photographer under 30. Street photographer from the early Two-Thousands but also careful experimenter of new art languages, Rizzi is often mentioned as an exponent of Contemporary Surrealist photography. After his first book Vision from another world, he is working on the publication of many projects, amoung which Theater in Traslation, presented in preview at Fotografia Europea 2013, and Translucency, a joint work with the scenographer and artist Luisa Spinatelli, on the geography and trace in Carrara marble mines. His work has been exhibited throughout Europe, the Unites States, the Middle East and Asia in solo and group exhibition. He delivered lectures at the Institute Center of Photography, at Fondazione Capri, at Domus Academy, a the American University of Beirut and at the university of Teramo and Pescara. In the 2014 a selection of his Tokyo work has been exhibit at “Travel Routes in Photography” at the Bath of Diocletian in Rome with Pieter Hugo and Narelle Autio and in Los Angeles at the Bergamot Station. Recently part of his Havana project has been published on the Venice Addendum in occasion of the Venice Biennale.
